Though the relationship has not yet been publicly disclosed by either brand (10/07/2019), Mira is a value mattress operated by Endy Sleep, a subsidiary of Sleep Country. The Mira mattress quietly entered the bed-in-a-box scene in July 2019 with their 8-inch foam mattress. In support of their value mission, the company’s messaging centres around creating a simple product and delivering it at the lowest price possible. They also hope to win over frustrated mattress shoppers by contrasting their marketing approach to other mattress retailers who spend heavily on TV marketing and social media influencer partnerships. It is worth noting that these are two marketing channels frequently used by the company.

Thanks to modern compression methods and the rising popularity of the bed-in-a-box, mattresses can now be shipped far more efficiently and conveniently than ever before. Customers no longer need to take a day off work to accept a delivery. Boxed beds are now delivered with the same convenience as most Amazon orders. Some bed-in-a-box companies even offer same-day delivery to certain areas.
Mira uses a combination of different shipping partners to deliver their mattresses to customers across Canada. Shipping is free to most Canadian addresses with the exception of some remote locations, such as the Territories. In addition, customers can generally expect to receive their mattresses within 3 to 5 business days depending on stock availability.
With respect to their return and exchange policy, Mira offers a sleep trial as well as well as free returns. At 130 nights, this sleep trial is above average in length. Customers who decide to return their Mira mattresses during the sleep trial period can do so at no cost and the company will arrange the returns.
It is worth noting that Mattress-Reviews.com did not complete the return process, but received this information via the the “Shipping Policy” as well as the “FAQ” part of Mira Bed’s website.

We received our shipment of the Mira Bed within the expected timeframe. The box arrived with mild discolouration and puncture, though the mattress itself was undamaged. This isn’t unusual. Simply because of the nature of the shipping and delivery process, mattress boxes may be somewhat damaged upon arrival. In order to accommodate this, most bed-in-a-box companies will wrap their mattresses in multiple layers of protective plastic in order to account for mishaps or accidents that occur during transit.
The Mira mattress box was sealed with glue. This means that scissors were not needed to open the box.
Once opened, the compressed mattress is easy to remove from the box. For efficiency and ease, we recommend a ‘tip-and-pull’ motion to slowly slide the mattress out from its cardboard container. Simply tip the box from a vertical position down onto its side, and then pull the lightweight box away from the bundled mattress. It’s most efficient to do this process in the room where you intend to use the mattress.
The Mira mattress is protected with three layers of plastic – two thick outer layers and one thick inner layer – to keep the mattress tightly rolled in a cylinder shape.
Customers will need to slice open the outer layer to unroll the mattress, which will still be in its compressed form. Next, unfold the mattress and place it along the designated bed frame. Cut the final layer of plastic. With the vacuum seal now broken, the mattress will begin to decompress. Remove this final layer of plastic as the mattress expands to its full height.
For the Mira mattress, full expansion took approximately 2 minutes.

Mira is a combination foam mattress. By pairing different foam types, densities, and firmness levels, Mira has designed a product that offers reasonable comfort, cooling, and support.
The Mira mattress only comes in one firmness option. This ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach is actually quite common among mattress-in-a-box retailers.
Mira Mattress Layers

The Mira mattress contains two layers of foam. Like many of the combination foam mattresses on the market today, the layers work together to provide an overall level of comfort and support.
- First layer: 1.5 inches of cooling gel-infused foam. This top layer helps with breathability and airflow within the mattress while also providing a certain amount of cushioning. Layer density: Unspecified.
- Second layer: 6.5 inches of polyfoam. This bottom layer is what gives this mattress its firmness, while factoring into the overall level of support and bounce. Layer density: Unspecified.
Of note: Foam density information for the Mira mattress is not publicly available. The foam used in this mattress is CertiPUR-US® certified.
Mira Mattress Cover

The Mira mattress has a textured white cover with a pattern of overlayed squares stitched in the fabric. Mira’s cover is 100% polyester and is also machine washable. The zipper running across the length of the mattress sidewall makes it possible to remove the top panel for care and maintenance, though it is located along the bottom of the mattress.

Edge Support
Foam and latex mattresses often have lower edge support scores than their spring and hybrid counterparts. According to the testing conducted by third-party engineers (commissioned by us), the Mira is rated at 6.4 / 10 on the edge support scale.

Bounce

Who buys a Mira mattress?
The Mira mattress is geared towards buyers who want a firm mattress at a low price. The brand’s value messaging make it clear: the company shuns advertising gimmicks and other marketing extravagences that simply drive up the ticket price without improving overall quality. Mira’s Canadian origins and local manufacturing will also appeal to shoppers who wish to purchase from a Canadian company. The extended sleep trial and convenient packaging should also resonate with customers looking for an alternative to conventional retail stores.
However, within the value category, buyers may not be getting full value for their dollar with Mira. Other two-layer foam mattresses with similar specs are available for around $100 to $200 less, including ones manafactured in Canada, like the Juno value mattress. Mira’s mid-market pricing may pose a challenge for the company: they are more expensive than most other value mattresses, but they also offer fewer layers and features than mattresses priced only slightly higher.
Buy a Mira mattress if you want:
- A Canadian-made foam mattress
- A long, 130-night sleep trial
- A machine-washable cover
- A slim, multi-layer mattress
