Product Overview
Octave Horizon is a 5-layer memory foam mattress built to support body recovery. At 14″ tall, a queen sells for $1,499, and the mattress has a medium-firm feel that suits most sleep styles and body types. Its taller profile and combination foam layers offer very good motion isolation and good edge support, which is good news if you’re a light sleeper or like to sit on the edge of your bed.
Horizon uses a five-zone support system made of high-density memory foam, breathable latex foam, and responsive Elastex® foam. Together, these layers help relieve pressure on sore areas and reduce muscle tension, making it easier to wake up feeling well-rested. Like the other Octave mattresses, Horizon is built to support good spinal alignment and help regulate sleep temperature, which can make a big difference for overall sleep health.
Horizon packs several standout cooling features like a moisture-wicking cover with more cooling nanofibres than any other Octave mattress, cooling gel foam, ventilated support layers, aerated latex, and phase-change material. These features all help create a temperature-regulated environment for a cooler night’s sleep and earned Horizon a great cooling feature score of 9.0/10.
Octave Horizon comes with a 365-night sleep trial and a 15-year warranty. You get to try out in the comfort of your home, and if it’s not the right fit, Octave offers free pickup and a full refund within the trial period.

Octave Mattress Construction
The Octave Horizon mattress is a memory foam mattress available in one firmness option. It's built with 5 foam layers, and falls into the medium-firm category according to third-party engineer tests (commissioned by us). It scored well in edge support and motion isolation, and has plenty of cooling features to ensure you stay cool and comfortable throughout the night.
Mattress Layers
The Octave Horizon has 5 layers of foam and measures 14" tall. Horizon gets its comfort, support, and cooling by using:
- 1st Layer: 2.5" of CopperGel™ memory foam infused with PolarMAX® phase-change material. Copper helps keep the surface fresh, while phase-change materials adjust to your body temperature through the night, allowing for a comfortable night's sleep.
- 2nd Layer: 1.5" of aerated latex with hundreds of air vents. These vents help with airflow, making the mattress more breathable and helping to control temperature for a better sleep experience.
- 3rd Layer: 2" of ecoLuxe® cooling gel foam to absorb heat from the upper layers while adding contouring around the body for pressure-point relief, soothing muscles and reducing tension.
- 4th Layer: 2" of Elastex® foam that cushions the body and adds a bit of extra bounce for responsiveness, without losing motion isolation.
- 5th Layer: 6" of high-density, zoned support foam provides ergonomic support for your back, hips, and knees, promoting proper spinal alignment and pressure point relief. This foam also includes air channels for extra cooling airflow.
Mattress Cover
Octave Horizon has an interesting cover design featuring a white top cover with blue accents woven throughout in a wave pattern. The sides are blue, and the Octave brand is prominently displayed at the foot of the bed, along with a description of Horizon's features.
Horizon's cover is soft-touch, with more CryoFusion™ cooling nanofibres than any other Octave mattress. These work with the mattress's other cooling features to wick moisture away from the body, keeping your sleep cool and dry. The top cover is removable with an all-around zipper and is machine washable.

Mattress Testing
To ensure our mattress reviews are thorough and trustworthy, we buy the products ourselves and have them tested by independent licensed engineers (commissioned by us) with no stake in the results.
These third-party engineers apply a consistent testing process to every mattress using a detailed framework. Every mattress is tested the same way, whether it's foam or hybrid. Because these types perform differently, we rate them on separate scales to ensure the scores are fair and meaningful.
We believe independent testing is essential to producing reliable and meaningful comparisons. That's why all test results are reviewed and signed off by an APEGA-certified engineer, operating under a strict code of ethics.
We use the testing results and over 40 criteria to build our scoring methodology.
Tests and reviews without this level of professional oversight may be more prone to errors and unintended bias.

Company Overview
Octave is made by GoodMorning.com, Canada's largest independent online mattress retailer. It launched in 2023, replacing Novosbed, the company's flagship mattress line. GoodMorning.com started in 2009 and was the first in Canada to offer a 100+ night in-home sleep trial with its mattresses. Octave builds on that foundation with a refreshed lineup designed to deliver even more comfort, support, and cooling.
The Octave collection includes three models: Vista, Mirage, and Horizon. Each one is made to suit different sleep needs and comes with features like copper-infused memory foam, advanced cooling layers, and five-zoned support for spinal alignment. Octave also performs well for motion isolation and pressure relief, making it a strong choice for sleepers looking for a modern memory foam mattress.
Customer Reviews & Feedback

Checking ratings on sites like these can be a useful way for customers to make more informed purchasing decisions.
Octave launched in 2023 and has since gained 5,200+ verified five-star reviews on its website. Customers have also rated the brand "Excellent" on Trustpilot. GoodMorning is rated well, too, with an accreditation of "A+" on BBB with a 4.9/5 star customer review rating.

All the content on our site, from product reviews to comparisons, is intended to provide general information to help guide your mattress search. We work with independent third-party engineers to test all mattress products we purchase, and we use the test results alongside public data to inform our reviews and comparisons.
The product details in each review reflect how the mattress performed at the time we purchased and tested it, as shown by the "Published" date.
Since brands can update their materials, pricing, or availability over time, we also note when the product was originally purchased, either directly in the article or on our disclaimer page, to maintain clarity and transparency.
If you see an "Updated" tag on a page with a more recent date than the published date, it simply means we've made editorial changes. It does not necessarily indicate any update to the mattress or its test data.
Finally, unless otherwise stated, any mention of where a mattress is made refers specifically to the product we received and tested.
