All foams used in the Polysleep mattress are CertiPUR-US® certified, but it only incorporates a few cooling features, like open-cell foam and perforations in the comfort layer. Hot sleepers might prefer a mattress like Douglas Original for its cooling gel foam.

Mattress Layers

At 10" tall, the Polysleep features 3 foam layers: one for comfort, one transition layer, and one for support. The Polysleep mattress also has a 7.5″ firm foam encasement around its perimeter. This design adds extra stability for sitting or sleeping near the edge, and likely contributes to its standout edge support score.

  • 1st Layer: A 2.5" layer of Polysleep's open-cell viscoelastic hybrid foam is antimicrobial, hypoallergenic, and aerated to help extra heat escape.
  • 2nd Layer: 2" of transition foam acts as a buffer between the softer top layer and the firmer base layer. It helps prevent you from sinking too deeply into the mattress or from feeling the support foam.
  • 3rd Layer: A 5.5" layer of high-density foam makes up the base of the mattress, giving it structure and stopping sinkage for better support while lying down.

Mattress Cover

All Polysleep mattresses feature the brand's two signature colours: purple and white. The Polysleep uses a simple design with a white removable top portion and purple fabric base, separated by a black zipper. The brand name is also stitched into the top cover.

The Polysleep mattress cover is made from a blend of polyviscose, polyester, and a small amount of spandex. The cover is removable, machine washable, and, according to Polysleep, water-resistant. It's made to be breathable, but it doesn't have any added cooling features.

Mattress Testing

/10

Made in

Firmness

In third-party engineer testing that we commissioned, the Polysleep mattress scored a 6.4/10 for firmness. That puts it in our medium-firm category, which usually works well for most sleep positions, and lines up with Polysleep's advertised firmness level. Medium-firm mattresses are good at offering a mix of pressure relief and support.

Our Rating
?

Determined by how much the mattress sinks under applied weight. The lower the score out of 10, the softer the mattress.

6.4

/10

Edge Support

The mattress earned a standout score of 9.0/10 for edge support. Good edge support is important in a mattress if you like to sprawl out while sleeping, or want a little more reinforcement when getting out of bed in the morning.

Our Rating
?

Determined by how much the mattress edge sinks under applied weight. A mattress with average to good edge support will score 5/10 or higher.

/10

Cooling Features

In the third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), The Polysleep scored 3.8/10 for its cooling features. The mattress isn't advertised as a dedicated cooling mattress, but it has a few materials to regulate temperatures. The Polysleep earned points for its:

  1. Breathable cover designed to promote airflow
  2. Aerated foam layer that allows excess heat to escape
  3. Open-cell foam in the comfort layer for better breathability

If cooling features are a priority for you, consider taking a look at Douglas Original. It has a layer of cooling gel foam plus a moisture-wicking top cover made from plant-based fibres to help keep you cool and dry all night long.

Our Rating
?

Determined by entering a mattress's cooling features into our scoring algorithm. The more effective cooling features that are present, the higher the score out of 10.

3.8

/10

Motion Isolation

If you're a light sleeper or share a bed with someone who moves around during the night, then having a mattress with good motion isolation is important for undisturbed sleep. The Polysleep scored 8.1/10 for motion isolation, which is a good result for a foam mattress.

If you want a mattress with even better motion isolation for a lower price, you may like the Douglas Original. It scored 8.3/10 for motion isolation, and costs less than Polysleep at $799 for a queen size.

Our Rating
?

Determined by measuring a medicine ball's impact on the mattress. Average to good motion isolation would be 5/10 or higher.

8.1

/10

Bounce

The Polysleep mattress scored 3.8/10 for bounce in third-party engineer testing that we commissioned. That's slightly below-average for a foam mattress. A lower bounce score usually means the surface contours more to your body and takes a bit longer to return to its original shape. This is good news for sleepers who wake up easily to movement or who enjoy a stable sleep surface.

For a mattress with even less bounce, check out Douglas Original, which earned a bounce score of 3.1/10.

Our Rating
?

Determined by dropping a medicine ball onto the mattress. The higher the first bounce, the higher the score out of 10.

Delivery & Other Policies

Note: The following information previously applied to The Polysleep. However, as of February 2025, The Polysleep is no longer available to purchase through the company's website. The mattress is only available in-store through individual approved retailers. Shipping, sleep trial, and return policies will vary by supplier.

Polysleep mattresses ship via UPS and FedEx. Delivery usually takes between 4–9 business days, including processing time. Shipping is free in most parts of Canada, but an additional fee may apply for remote areas such as Yukon, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.

The Polysleep mattress comes with a standard 100-night sleep trial, which gives you some time to decide if it's the right fit. That said, this trial doesn't apply to customers in the Canadian territories. Before starting a return, you have to sleep on the mattress for at least 45 nights. If you decide to return it, a non-refundable $89.95 administrative fee (plus tax) will be deducted from your refund.

Exchanges are allowed, but only once. If you choose a more expensive replacement model, you'll pay the difference, and you won't receive a new trial period with the replacement. If you keep the mattress, it's backed by a 10-year limited warranty that covers manufacturing defects. Polysleep doesn't say whether the warranty covers any damage that might happen during shipping.

In comparison, there are several other brands that offer more customer-friendly sleep trial and return policies. If you're looking for an extended trial and a longer warranty, consider Douglas Original. It comes with a 365-night sleep trial, a 20-year warranty, and free returns with full refunds; no additional fees or deductions.

Company Overview

Company HQ

Montreal, QC

Founded in 2016, Polysleep is a Canadian company based in Quebec that has historically offered most of its retail services online. More recently, Polysleep has started partnering with brick-and-mortar retailers to sell its mattresses in-store. Some models, like The Polysleep and Zephyr 2.0, are now in-person exclusives and aren't for sale online anymore.

Customer Reviews & Feedback

Third-party review sites like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and Trustpilot collect and publish customer feedback about companies and their products, and aren't controlled by the companies being reviewed. They offer a snapshot of overall customer satisfaction and highlight common issues shoppers might face. Checking ratings on sites like these can be a useful way for customers to make more informed purchasing decisions.

Polysleep has 3.5/5 stars on its unclaimed Trustpilot profile, but there aren't any reviews to go with that rating. The lack of company information and customer reviews on third-party consumer trust websites isn't typical for an online brand and makes it hard to evaluate what customers are saying about their experience with Polysleep.
