Both Juno Hybrid and IKEA VALEVAG are hybrid mattresses with layers of foam and pocket coils, although the Juno Hybrid has 4 layers and VALEVAG has 3. The mattresses have a similar height, with the Juno Hybrid being 10" tall and the IKEA VALEVAG measuring 9.5".

• 1st Layer: 2" of full-body cooling gel foam that provides cushioning and helps keep temperatures comfortable.
• 2nd Layer: 1" of transition foam that adds comfort and separates the top layer from the coils for better pressure relief.
• 3rd Layer: 6" of individually pocketed coils with zoned support through the middle third, for extra support under your back and hips. This layer also includes reinforced foam around the perimeter for stronger edge support.
• 4th Layer: 1" of base foam that supports the coil system and makes the entire mattress secure.

The Juno Hybrid uses a knit mattress cover patterned with grey and white striping and a berry-coloured accent, drawing inspiration from traditional Canadian wool socks. The cover is not removable or machine washable, so cleaning should be limited to spot treatment as needed. An optional Cool+ cover upgrade is available for $79. This uses the same base fabric as the standard cover but incorporates cooling yarn to help with temperature regulation.

The IKEA VALEVAG mattress is finished with a minimalist quilted cover made from a soft knit fabric. The cover is offered in white or light blue, depending on the selected firmness option. Integrated side handles are included to make lifting, repositioning, or rotating the mattress easier.

Mattress Performance

In third-party engineer testing that we commissioned, both mattresses earned good edge support scores. IKEA VALEVAG received a great score of 8.3/10, while Juno Hybrid's score was even higher: 9.3/10. Edge support keeps your body on the mattress when you sit on the edge, giving you more usable space. Both mattresses also have a medium-firm feel. This is generally considered suitable for all sleep positions.

Where Juno Hybrid differs:

• Juno Hybrid's motion isolation score was average at 5.3/10. Although this is lower than IKEA VALEVAG's score, the mattress will still provide fairly good motion isolation.
