Product Overview
Casper Snow is a 12″ hybrid mattress available through the Casper Canada website and Sleep Country. It has a medium-firm feel and features zoned support with three targeted zones to help promote spinal alignment. Casper designed this mattress with cooling in mind. It includes Snow technology, which features HeatDelete™ Bands, phase-change material, and a CoolTouch cover to help manage temperature throughout the night.
At $2,999 for a queen-size, Casper Snow is more expensive than some other comparable hybrid mattresses. However, you get a 100-night sleep trial and a 10-year warranty, which is standard for the industry. Casper offers free return pickups with a full refund, but if you purchase your mattress from Sleep Country, you’ll need to pay a $65 exchange fee and will receive store credit instead of a refund.
If you’re looking for a more affordable cooling mattress, you should check out the Octave Horizon. It offers a 365-night sleep trial and 15-year warranty, along with a comparable number of cooling features like phase-change material, perforated foam, a cover woven with cooling nanofibres, and a layer of antimicrobial CopperGel™ memory foam. Retailing for $1,499 for a queen size, every Octave mattress also ships with a free bedding bundle which includes a sheet set, pillow(s), mattress protector, and pillow protector(s).

Casper Snow Mattress Construction
Casper Snow is a hybrid mattress that is advertised to be constructed with a combination of memory foam and coils to create a cooling sleep environment. It stands 12" tall.
Mattress Layers
Snow contains 5 layers, and all foams used in this mattress are CertiPUR-US®-certified.
- 1st Layer: 1" of polyurethane foam with AirScape™ technology, Casper's proprietary name for perforated foam. This layer also features phase-change material.
- 2nd Layer: 1" foam layer with zoned support, using HeatDelete Bands with aluminum and graphite for added cooling and airflow.
- 3rd Layer: 2" of undisclosed foam to prevent you from feeling the coil layer directly beneath.
- 4th Layer: 6.5" of individually pocketed flex coils which are encased in a layer of dense foam around the edge. This offers support and pressure relief, while adding edge support.
- 5th Layer: 1" of foam underneath the coils provides a foundation, and prevents the coils from making noise, and scratching or damaging your foundation.
Mattress Cover
Casper Snow has a grey mattress cover with some piping and the word "Snow" along the side of the mattress. It amounts to the remaining 0.5" of the mattress height. According to Casper, the cover is made with a mix of recycled polyester, upcycled cotton, rayon, and lycra, plus specialized cooling yarn to help with temperature control.
While the cover does have a zipper, Casper advises against removing it. It's not machine washable, so cleaning is limited to spot treatments only.
Mattress Testing
To ensure our mattress reviews are thorough and trustworthy, we buy the products ourselves and have them tested by independent licensed engineers (commissioned by us) with no stake in the results.
These third-party engineers apply a consistent testing process to every mattress using a detailed framework. Every mattress is tested the same way, whether it's foam or hybrid. Because these types perform differently, we rate them on separate scales to ensure the scores are fair and meaningful.
We believe independent testing is essential to producing reliable and meaningful comparisons. That's why all test results are reviewed and signed off by an APEGA-certified engineer, operating under a strict code of ethics.
We use the testing results and over 40 criteria to build our scoring methodology.
Tests and reviews without this level of professional oversight may be more prone to errors and unintended bias.

Delivery & Other Policies
Casper includes free shipping to most Canadian addresses. Orders typically arrive within 5–15 business days, factoring in both processing and delivery time. Shipping to the territories and remote areas may take longer and will come with added fees.
The brand offers a 100-night sleep trial and a 10-year warranty, which are both industry standard. However, these fall short of what's offered by some competitors, such as Octave Horizon, which includes a 365-night sleep trial and a 15-year warranty.
Shoppers should also be aware that trial and warranty terms can vary by retailer. For instance, Casper provides free return pickups and full refunds when purchased directly. But if the same model is bought through Sleep Country (Casper Canada's parent company), returns involve a $65 exchange fee and only qualify for store credit. We recommend confirming all policies with the retailer before purchasing.
Company Overview
Casper was one of the first bed-in-a-box brands to gain widespread recognition in North America, launching in 2014. Since then, most of its competitors have joined the bed-in-a-box mattress industry with more specialized options, a lower price point, or a combination of the two.
Casper went public in 2020 but was taken private again in 2022 after a stock collapse. In 2022, Casper shut down its European operations, focusing on the North American market. In 2023, Casper sold its Canadian operations to Sleep Country Canada, and in 2024, its US operations were acquired by one of its suppliers, Carpenter Corporation.
Today, the company offers mattresses, bedding accessories, and home decor. Products are sold online, through branded retail stores, and at Sleep Country locations in Canada. Their mattresses sometimes have rotating sales or deals that may include free sleep accessories.
Customer Reviews & Feedback
Third-party review sites like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and Trustpilot collect and publish customer feedback about companies and their products, and aren't controlled by the companies being reviewed. They offer a snapshot of overall customer satisfaction and highlight common issues shoppers might face. Checking ratings on sites like these can be a useful way for customers to make more informed purchasing decisions.
Casper has separate American and Canadian operations, but uses one combined Trustpilot page, which rates it as "Poor" with a 2.5/5 star review rating. Casper doesn't have a Canadian BBB profile, but it's American BBB profile has a rating of "A+" (unaccredited) and a customer review score of 1.17/5. Casper's parent company, Sleep Country Canada, has a customer review score of 1.32/5 on BBB, and is rated "Poor" on Trustpilot.
Should You Buy Casper Snow?
Casper Snow is a cooling-focused hybrid mattress that's available online or in-store through both Casper and Sleep Country. It offers good edge support, very good motion isolation, and cooling features. However, it has a higher price point than some comparable options, at $2,999 for a queen-size, and doesn't offer a machine washable cover. You might like Casper Snow if you want:
- To buy your mattress from a major retailer like Sleep Country
- A mattress with good edge support and very good motion isolation
- The ability to try out the mattress in a mattress showroom
That said, we think you should consider the Octave Horizon instead. It comes with comparable cooling features, a machine-washable cover, a 365-night sleep trial, free returns with full refunds, and a 15-year warranty. You also get a free bedding bundle with your purchase, and all for a more affordable price of $1,499 for a queen-size.

All the content on our site, from product reviews to comparisons, is intended to provide general information to help guide your mattress search. We work with independent third-party engineers to test all mattress products we purchase, and we use the test results alongside public data to inform our reviews and comparisons.
The product details in each review reflect how the mattress performed at the time we purchased and tested it, as shown by the "Published" date.
Since brands can update their materials, pricing, or availability over time, we also note when the product was originally purchased, either directly in the article or on our disclaimer page, to maintain clarity and transparency.
If you see an "Updated" tag on a page with a more recent date than the published date, it simply means we've made editorial changes. It does not necessarily indicate any update to the mattress or its test data.
Finally, unless otherwise stated, any mention of where a mattress is made refers specifically to the product we received and tested.
