Product Overview
Advertised as a medium mattress, the Bloom Earth from Sleep Country comes with gel memory foam and charcoal-infused foam to help with temperature and odour regulation. Third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us) placed it in our medium-firm category, making it slightly firmer than marketed. It also earned standout edge support and very good motion isolation scores.
At $599 for a queen-size, Bloom Earth sits mid-range among foam mattresses sold in Canada. It comes with a 100-night sleep trial and a 10-year warranty, which is standard for the industry.
If firmness and edge support are your top priorities, the Canadian-made Juno could be a better fit. It offers a similar performance at a more budget-friendly price point of $499 for a queen. Plus, it includes a longer 120-night sleep trial, the option for free returns with a full refund, and a 15-year warranty. It also ships with a free bedding bundle which includes a cotton sheet set, pillow(s), pillow protector(s), and a mattress protector.

Bloom Mattress Construction
Bloom Earth is a foam mattress that measures 8" tall, and comes in a single firmness option. By combining 3 foam layers of different types, densities, and firmness levels, Sleep Country has designed a configuration that offers comfort, cooling, and support. The foam layers are CertiPUR-US® certified.
Mattress Layers
The Bloom Earth mattress contains 3 layers of foam. Like many of the memory foam mattresses on the market today, each layer of foam in the Bloom Earth mattress works with the others to provide comfort and support.
- 1st Layer: 1" of cooling gel memory foam that quickly conforms to the body's shape, providing pressure point relief while helping you stay cool as you sleep
- 2nd Layer: 2.5" of convoluted foam, that helps warm air escape more easily. It also provides good pressure point relief, offering a softer transition between comfort and support layers.
- 3rd Layer: 4.5" of aerated support foam that reinforces the mattress and helps it breathe. According to Sleep Country, the bamboo charcoal in this layer also helps manage odours.
Mattress Cover
The cover uses two-sided double jacquard antimicrobial fabric and is made entirely of polyester, according to the law label of the Earth mattress we purchased. It's likely that the polyester fibres have been treated to give the fabric its antimicrobial qualities. The cover can be removed and washed in cold or warm water. Inside, a rayon sock surrounds the foam layers, which Sleep Country says reduces fire risk.

Mattress Testing
To ensure our mattress reviews are thorough and trustworthy, we buy the products ourselves and have them tested by independent licensed engineers (commissioned by us) with no stake in the results.
These third-party engineers apply a consistent testing process to every mattress using a detailed framework. Every mattress is tested the same way, whether it's foam or hybrid. Because these types perform differently, we rate them on separate scales to ensure the scores are fair and meaningful.
We believe independent testing is essential to producing reliable and meaningful comparisons. That's why all test results are reviewed and signed off by an APEGA-certified engineer, operating under a strict code of ethics.
We use the testing results and over 40 criteria to build our scoring methodology.
Tests and reviews without this level of professional oversight may be more prone to errors and unintended bias.

Delivery & Other Policies
Bloom Earth is available from Sleep Country Canada and comes compressed and boxed for easy handling. Delivery typically takes 3–10 business days, with free shipping on orders over $75. Customers in Newfoundland and Labrador or the Canadian Territories have to pay an extra $120 shipping surcharge.
Sleep Country includes a 10-year limited warranty with the Bloom Earth, which covers manufacturing defects. This is standard in the industry.
The mattress also comes with a 100-night sleep trial, giving shoppers time to decide if it's the right match. Instead of a refund, customers receive in-store credit (minus a $65 exchange fee) that can be applied toward another mattress. If the replacement costs more, you'll cover the difference in price.
The company doesn't offer a pickup service for returns. So if you return the mattress during the trial, you will have to bring the expanded mattress back to a Sleep Country store yourself, even if it was purchased online.

Company Overview
Bloom was created and launched by Sleep Country Canada in 2017 as its first proprietary bed-in-a-box brand. Sleep Country's been around since 1994, starting out in Vancouver, BC. These days, you'll find their stores all over Canada, and they carry everything from mattresses and pillows to bedding and furniture.
Customer Reviews & Feedback
Third-party review sites like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and Trustpilot collect and publish customer feedback about companies and their products, and aren't controlled by the companies being reviewed. They offer a snapshot of overall customer satisfaction and highlight common issues shoppers might face. Checking ratings on sites like these can be a useful way for customers to make more informed purchasing decisions.
While Bloom doesn't have its own profile on the BBB, its parent company, Sleep Country Canada, is listed there with a rating of "A+" (unaccredited). That said, customer reviews on the BBB site average just 1.32 out of 5 stars. On Trustpilot, the company has a "Poor" rating with 1.8 out of 5 stars.
Should You Buy Bloom Earth?
Bloom Earth performed well in third-party engineer testing. That said, you can't return it for a full refund, since Sleep Country's trial only allows a one-time exchange, or in-store credit. As such, Bloom shoppers will need to determine which features matter most to them. You might like the Bloom Earth if you want:
- To buy your mattress from a major Canadian retailer like Sleep Country
- A removable, machine-washable cover
- The option to try the mattress in-store before buying
If you're considering budget-friendly foam mattresses with similar features at a lower price point, we think you should consider Juno.
Juno offers a longer 120-night sleep trial with full refunds and free return pickup, as well as a more generous 15-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle. It's priced at just $499 for a queen size, while Bloom Earth costs more at $599.

All the content on our site, from product reviews to comparisons, is intended to provide general information to help guide your mattress search. We work with independent third-party engineers to test all mattress products we purchase, and we use the test results alongside public data to inform our reviews and comparisons.
The product details in each review reflect how the mattress performed at the time we purchased and tested it, as shown by the "Published" date.
Since brands can update their materials, pricing, or availability over time, we also note when the product was originally purchased, either directly in the article or on our disclaimer page, to maintain clarity and transparency.
If you see an "Updated" tag on a page with a more recent date than the published date, it simply means we've made editorial changes. It does not necessarily indicate any update to the mattress or its test data.
Finally, unless otherwise stated, any mention of where a mattress is made refers specifically to the product we received and tested.
