Product Overview
The Bloom Cloud is a memory foam mattress made of 4 layers, including aerated latex, gel-infused foam, and bamboo charcoal-infused foam. Sleep Country lists it as a medium-feel mattress, but in third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), it fell into our medium-firm range. It also earned solid scores for edge support and motion isolation.
Starting at $899, the Bloom Cloud is available in sizes from twin to king. At $1,199 for a queen-size, it’s one of the pricier options in Sleep Country’s Bloom lineup.
If you’re weighing your options, the Canadian-made Douglas Original has comparable features and performance but is available at a lower price of $799 for a queen. It also includes a generous 365-night sleep trial, free returns with a full refund, and a 20-year warranty. Every Douglas mattress also includes a bonus bedding bundle, which includes a mattress protector, pillow(s), sheets, and pillow protector(s) at no extra cost.

Bloom Mattress Construction
The Bloom Cloud is a 10.5" all-foam mattress available in a single firmness level. All foam layers carry CertiPUR-US® certification.
Mattress Layers
The Bloom Cloud mattress contains 4 foam layers, each designed to work together for balanced comfort and support.
- 1st Layer: 1" of gel-infused memory foam that helps disperse body heat and creates a cooler sleep surface while maintaining the pressure relief expected from memory foam
- 2nd Layer: 1" of gel memory foam with aerated latex foam split into three sections to provide zoned support. Softer memory foam is at the head and foot of the mattress to support lighter areas of the body. In the middle, firmer latex foam adds extra support for the lower back and hips.
- 3rd Layer: 1" of memory foam, which adds extra contouring for the body, providing added pressure relief
- 4th Layer: 7.5" of support foam that prevents your body from sinking too deeply into the mattress. This layer is infused with bamboo charcoal, which Bloom states will help maintain freshness over time.
Mattress Cover
The Bloom Cloud mattress has a soft pastel cover in turquoise, grey, and white. It includes turquoise accents like the zipper and the Bloom logo at the foot of the bed. The zipper runs along the upper edge in a wave pattern, connecting the top panel to the base fabric.
The top cover is made of organic cotton and can be unzipped and machine washed on a low-heat setting. After washing, let it air dry.
Mattress Testing
To ensure our mattress reviews are thorough and trustworthy, we buy the products ourselves and have them tested by independent licensed engineers (commissioned by us) with no stake in the results.
These third-party engineers apply a consistent testing process to every mattress using a detailed framework. Every mattress is tested the same way, whether it's foam or hybrid. Because these types perform differently, we rate them on separate scales to ensure the scores are fair and meaningful.
We believe independent testing is essential to producing reliable and meaningful comparisons. That's why all test results are reviewed and signed off by an APEGA-certified engineer, operating under a strict code of ethics.
We use the testing results and over 40 criteria to build our scoring methodology.
Tests and reviews without this level of professional oversight may be more prone to errors and unintended bias.

Delivery & Other Policies
When ordered from Sleep Country Canada, the Bloom Cloud mattress arrives compressed and boxed for easy setup. Delivery usually takes 3–10 business days, with free shipping on orders over $75. Customers in Newfoundland and Labrador or the Canadian Territories should note there is a $120 shipping surcharge for these areas.
Sleep Country includes a 10-year limited warranty with your mattress, which covers manufacturing defects. This is standard in the industry.
You also get a 100-night sleep trial to decide if it's the right fit for you. If you return the mattress during the trial, you'll need to bring back the expanded mattress to a Sleep Country store yourself, even if you bought it online. The company doesn't offer mattress pick-ups for returns, and they don't issue refunds. Instead, you'll get in-store credit (minus a $65 exchange fee) to use toward another mattress. If your next pick is more expensive, you'll cover the difference in price.

Company Overview
Bloom was created and launched by Sleep Country Canada in 2017 as its first proprietary bed-in-a-box brand. Sleep Country's been around since 1994, starting out in Vancouver, BC. These days, you'll find their stores all over Canada, and they carry everything from mattresses and pillows to bedding and furniture.
Customer Reviews and Feedback
Third-party review sites like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and Trustpilot collect and publish customer feedback about companies and their products, and aren't controlled by the companies being reviewed. They offer a snapshot of overall customer satisfaction and highlight common issues shoppers might face. Checking ratings on sites like these can be a useful way for customers to make more informed purchasing decisions.
While Bloom doesn't have its own profile on the BBB, its parent company, Sleep Country Canada, is listed there with a rating of "A+" (unaccredited). That said, customer reviews on the BBB site average just 1.32 out of 5 stars. On Trustpilot, the company has a "Poor" rating with 1.8 out of 5 stars.
Should You Buy Bloom Cloud?
The Bloom Cloud performed well in third-party engineer testing (commissioned by us), but it's pricier than other Bloom models. Shoppers may want to consider which features are must-haves and which are extras. The Bloom Cloud could be a good choice for those looking for:

- An organic cover that's easy to remove and machine-wash
- To buy your mattress from a well-known retailer
You may also want to consider a Canadian competitor like Douglas Original instead. It comes with a 365-night sleep trial, the option to return your mattress for free and receive a full refund, and a 20-year warranty. You also get a free bedding bundle. The Douglas Original also costs less at $799 for a queen.

All the content on our site, from product reviews to comparisons, is intended to provide general information to help guide your mattress search. We work with independent third-party engineers to test all mattress products we purchase, and we use the test results alongside public data to inform our reviews and comparisons.
The product details in each review reflect how the mattress performed at the time we purchased and tested it, as shown by the "Published" date.
Since brands can update their materials, pricing, or availability over time, we also note when the product was originally purchased, either directly in the article or on our disclaimer page, to maintain clarity and transparency.
If you see an "Updated" tag on a page with a more recent date than the published date, it simply means we've made editorial changes. It does not necessarily indicate any update to the mattress or its test data.
Finally, unless otherwise stated, any mention of where a mattress is made refers specifically to the product we received and tested.
