Product Overview
The Simba 1500 is a firm hybrid mattress manufactured by Simba Sleep. It features Simbatex® technology, an open-cell, graphite-infused material designed to improve airflow throughout the mattress. This mattress is on the high end of the mattress price range, coming in at $1,999 for a queen size.
While Simba mattresses used to be sold through their own website and third-party retailers, they’re now exclusively available through Sleep Country across Canada. That makes the mattresses subject to Sleep Country’s 100-night sleep trial, 10-year warranty, and return policies.
If you’re in the market for a hybrid mattress, you might like an option like the Canadian-made Logan & Cove Frontier mattress. Logan & Cove is a hybrid mattress, too, but comes in at a price of just $1,299 for a queen. Plus, it has cooling features like a plush Euro-top cover infused with cooling nanofibres, cooling gel foam, and offers contouring micro-coils and 3-zoned support. You’ll also get a 365-night sleep trial, a 15-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle with your purchase.
Note: This review features the Simba 1500 mattress we purchased, which was manufactured two years before it shipped, according to its law label. This was a factor in Simba’s low final score.

Simba 1500 Mattress Construction
The Simba 1500 mattress stands 10" tall and has 2 foam layers and 1 micro coil layer, and is available in multiple firmness options. We purchased the medium-firm version for this review, but third-party engineer testing shows that falls into the firm category.
Simba combines layers of foam and coil to provide a mattress that offers both comfort and support. The foam layers are CertiPUR-US® certified.
Mattress Layers
- 1st Layer: 1.25″ of Simbatex® open-cell foam, which is said to allow more airflow than traditional memory foam. This layer contours to your body and helps to relieve pressure.
- 2nd Layer: 1″ of micro coils individually pocketed and encased in a layer of edge support foam.
- 3rd Layer: 7.75″ of high-density support foam. This layer ensures you won't sink too far down.
Mattress Cover
The Simba 1500 has a simple, modern design with a white top, grey sides. The stitched logo on the front adds a branded touch. The mattress cover is made of polyester, polypropylene, and a small amount of elastane. It has handles on the side to make moving the mattress easy.
The cover does include a zipper, but Simba advises against removing it since it's not machine washable. If you're the type who prefers low-maintenance cleaning, it's worth noting that the cover is spot-clean only.
Mattress Testing
To ensure our mattress reviews are thorough and trustworthy, we buy the products ourselves and have them tested by independent licensed engineers (commissioned by us) with no stake in the results.
These third-party engineers apply a consistent testing process to every mattress using a detailed framework. Every mattress is tested the same way, whether it's foam or hybrid. Because these types perform differently, we rate them on separate scales to ensure the scores are fair and meaningful.
We believe independent testing is essential to producing reliable and meaningful comparisons. That's why all test results are reviewed and signed off by an APEGA-certified engineer, operating under a strict code of ethics.
We use the testing results and over 40 criteria to build our scoring methodology.
Tests and reviews without this level of professional oversight may be more prone to errors and unintended bias.

Delivery & Other Policies
Simba mattress recently paused selling their mattresses via the Simba Sleep website, and all mattress delivery and shipping are handled by Sleep Country. It'll show up at your door neatly packed in a box. Delivery typically takes 3–10 business days, and shipping is free on orders over $75. If you're in Newfoundland and Labrador or the Canadian Territories, there's a $120 shipping surcharge.
The Simba 1500 mattress includes a 10-year limited warranty that covers manufacturing defects in the mattress layers, but only includes defects relating to the mattress cover for the first year. It does not cover conditions resulting from wear and tear, or damage from improper use aren't covered.
You also get a 100-night sleep trial to test the mattress out at home. Simba requires you to spend at least 30 nights before deciding to return it. If it's still not the right fit, you'll need to bring it back to a Sleep Country store yourself, even if you bought it online. Sleep Country doesn't do mattress pick-ups for returns, and they don't issue refunds. Instead, you'll get in-store credit (minus a $65 exchange fee) to use toward another mattress. If your next pick is more expensive, you'll cover the price difference.
If you're looking for a longer sleep trial or a more generous warranty, consider a brand like Logan & Cove Frontier. It comes with a 365-night trial and a 15-year warranty, which is longer than what Simba offers, and for a lower price. Logan & Cove would also pick up your mattress if you decide to return it during your sleep trial, and offer you full refunds.
Company Overview
Simba is a mattress company founded in 2015 and is based in London, England. Their line of micro-coil mattresses soon became top-sellers in Europe. In 2018, Sleep Country Canada purchased the exclusive rights to sell Simba mattresses in Canada. Though the first Simba mattresses sold in Canada were made in China, these days the Simba mattresses sold at Sleep Country are produced domestically. The brand also sells a variety of sleep accessories, such as pillows, duvets, and mattress protectors.
Customer Reviews & Feedback
Third-party review sites like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and Trustpilot collect and publish customer feedback about companies and their products, and aren't controlled by the companies being reviewed. They offer a snapshot of overall customer satisfaction and highlight common issues shoppers might face. Checking ratings on sites like these can be a useful way for customers to make more informed purchasing decisions.
Simba has a good online reputation, with a Trustpilot rating of "Excellent". Although the company doesn't have its own Better Business Bureau profile, the company's Canadian distributor, Sleep Country, is rated "A+" (unaccredited) on BBB with a customer review rating of 1.32/5. It also has a "Poor" rating on Trustpilot.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Simba mattresses good?
Simba 1500 is great if you are simply looking to get a mattress with good edge support and motion isolation, but at $1,999, it's priced higher than similar competitor mattresses, has only a few cooling features, has an industry-average 100-night sleep trial and 10-year warranty.
If you are looking to explore a hybrid option with more features, you may prefer a mattress like Logan & Cove Frontier instead. It costs considerably less at $1,299 for a queen. Frontier offers more cooling and comfort features, along with a longer 365-night sleep trial and 365-year warranty, and a free bedding bundle.
How long does a Simba mattress last?
Experts generally say a good mattress lasts about 7–10 years, but this can vary based on the materials and how often you use it. There's no hard-and-fast rule, but if you start noticing sagging, lumps, or less comfort and support, it's probably time to think about replacing it. Regular maintenance can help your mattress last longer.
Where are Simba mattresses made?
Simba manufactures mattresses for the Canadian market in Canada.
What does Simba's manufacturer's warranty cover?
Simba's 10-year warranty covers manufacturing defects only. It does not cover any incidental or accidental damage, including any harm to the mattress while it's being shipped. The Simba mattress cover is only protected for the first year of the warranty term.
What Simba mattress alternatives should I consider?
We recommend checking out Logan & Cove Frontier. At $1,299 for a queen, this Canadian-made foam mattress includes a moisture-wicking cooling nanofibre cover, zoned support, cooling gel foam, and provides solid pressure-point relief.
It also comes with a free bedding bundle, a 15-year warranty, and a 365-night sleep trial with full refunds, free returns, and free pickups.

All the content on our site, from product reviews to comparisons, is intended to provide general information to help guide your mattress search. We work with independent third-party engineers to test all mattress products we purchase, and we use the test results alongside public data to inform our reviews and comparisons.
The product details in each review reflect how the mattress performed at the time we purchased and tested it, as shown by the "Published" date.
Since brands can update their materials, pricing, or availability over time, we also note when the product was originally purchased, either directly in the article or on our disclaimer page, to maintain clarity and transparency.
If you see an "Updated" tag on a page with a more recent date than the published date, it simply means we've made editorial changes. It does not necessarily indicate any update to the mattress or its test data.
Finally, unless otherwise stated, any mention of where a mattress is made refers specifically to the product we received and tested.
